Last Will and Testament of Adam Whitworth Yeoman of Mossley Cross dated 6 January 1802

In the Name of God Amen, I Adam Whitworth of Mossley Cross in the Parish of Ashton under line and County of Lancaster Yeoman, being weak of Body but of sound and perfect disposeing mind and memory blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First it is my will and mind that all my lawful Debts Funeral expenses and Probate of this my last Will and Testament be paid and discharged out of my Personal Estate by my Executors herein after named, Secondly it is my will and mind that at my Decease my three Tenements shall be valued and my sons to have each one Tenement (as far as they will go) at the Valuation, beginning with my eldest son and so on according to their age, and if they refuse, the tenements so left, together with all my other property shall be sold by my executors to the best advantage they can and all my lawful debts paid from the money arising from such sale, and if my wife happens to survive me the Remainder of the Money shall be put to Interest so arising to be for the maintenance of my Wife at the discretion of my executors and at the death of my wife all the Stock, Money or Property remaining shall be equally Divided share and share alike amongst my Sons and Daughters James Jacob Adam John Sarah Sally and Jane or their lawful issue And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint Edmund Buckley my son Jacob and my daughter Sally to be Executors and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all Wills by me heretofore made In witness whereof I the said Adam Whitworth have hereunto put my hand and seal this sixth day of January in the year of our Lord God one thousand Eight Hundred and Two

5 February 1802 Executors made oath that the effects as they stood at the death of the late testator were above Forty Pounds and under One Hundred
